WHAT DO WE BELIEVE IN?
Principles and values in which we believe as a christian church.
About the Bible
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the living Word of God, completely inspired by God and without error in their original manuscripts. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 1:1-2, 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe the Bible is the supreme and final authority in all life and faith matters, and that the Holy Scriptures must be interpretated gramatically, historically and literally. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21).
About the Trinity
We believe that God the Father is the first person of the Trinity, infinitely perfect, eternal, creator, sustainer and governor of all that exists, who has designed and sustained the plan of salvation for the human race by His grace. To Him alone is glory to be given. (Genesis 3:15, John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 1:9, Ephesians 1:3 and following, Ephesians 2:4-10, 1 Peter 1:3)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God the Son. In his humanity, he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus Christ demonstrated his love for us by dying on the cross to pay the price for our sins. He was resurrected on the third day and now lives as Lord and Savior, truly and fully God and Man. (Matthew 1:18-20, Luke 1:35, John 1:1-14, John 2:11, John 13:55, Galatians 4:4, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15, Colossians 1:19, Colossians 2:9, 1 Timothy 3:16, John 11:3, Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 15:4)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Divine Trinity, He who inspired the Holy Scriptures and is the agent of human regeneration, who seals and baptizes in the moment of belief, and who dwells permanently in the believer from the moment of conversion, strengthening and equipping with spiritual gifts to be used in the service of God. He is afflicted when the believer sins and is minimized when resisted or disobeyed. (Matthew 28:19, John 3:5, Romans 8:1-39, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 4:30, Ephesians 5:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:19, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Titus 3:5).
About Salvation
We believe that every person must repent of all that displeases God, must believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and must follow in the path of Jesus.
We believe that every person who receives the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior in faith, by grace, and without the mediation of any human work, is “born again,” and becomes a child of God, “created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” (1 John 2:8-17, 3:6-7, Isaiah 55:7, Luke 9:23, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-10)
We believe that all of the redeemed are eternally kept through the power of God, in that they have eternal security because of the character and eternal purpose of the Father, the work of the Son, the permanent presence of the Holy Spirit in the believer, and the nature of the gift of eternal life. (1 John 3:6-7, John 5:24, John 10:28, Romans 3:20, Romans 8:1, Romans 8:6, Romans 8:9, Romans 8:29-30, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, 1 John 5:11-12).
