WHO ARE WE?
General description and history of our church
About us
We are a church committed to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, that reaches, strengthens, equips, and sends, developing each person’s potential for the work of God.
Our goal is to be a church that worships God and grows holistically, characterized by community among believers, social outreach, the multiplication of churches, and involvement in missions to unreached people groups.
Our purpose is to honor God with our lives and ministry.
Our history
In 1980, a missionary couple, Carlos and Corina Nelson, started the ministry of Berea, preaching the word and meeting in their home with those who believed.
A year later, the preparation to buy a piece of land to build a church began. Since 1983, the church has been meeting at this property. Through the years, Berea has been known for the birth of ministries, the reproduction of other churches, solid teaching of the Word of God, and a rich community within the congregation.
One could say that Berea is a big family in which we care for one another in the love of God, not only between locals and nationals of Costa Rica, but also with missionaries who visit to learn our language.
